Design Week (DWFW) Multi-Dimensional and Inspiring
Snag your tickets to the third annual , May 7 – 11, for a chance to learn from a highly-curated slate of industry professionals and thought leaders. The week-long event has become a multi-dimensional inspiring week of programming centered on all things style and design.
Conceived of by Dan Swartz of as a way to grow the local design community, DWFW has become a collaboration between Swartz, local design enthusiasts and professionals, as well as sponsoring companies, including Britton Marketing, which takes an active role in many facets of the week’s roster of events. Each day’s panels and keynote presentations take place at the Louis Kahn designed while the opening party on May 5 will be hosted by Wunderkammer 火红彩票平台手机下载 at its ever-changing Fairfield Avenue gallery.
DWFW serves up workshops and tours in the mornings, with the speaking sessions kicking offin the afternoons and the keynote speeches are in the early evening with a post networking parties. The days are themed, so guests can easily attend speakers, panels and workshops that most speak to their interests and professions.
The theme for Monday, May 7 is Societal Design, featuring discussions about design’s role and responsibility within society and the use of art and design to inspire social change. Jarin Hart, executive director of the in Des Moines will lead a panel discussion. Attendees will also hear from Julia Moore, director of public art for the City of Indianapolis.
On Tuesday, May 8, Innovation will be front and center with talks about tech talent led by Scott Fadness, the mayor of Fishers, Indiana, as well as a conversation on how to encourage innovation by Dr. Sue Ellspermann, president of Ivy Tech. Input Fort Wayne will present a panel discussion about using design for good with panelists from cities like Detroit and Cleveland.
The theme Architecture and Interior Design will be the feature on Wednesday, May 9. Thomas Kerwin, a Fort Wayne born architect, now based in Chicago, who’s firm works on large scale projects around the world, including the master plan of downtown Beijing, China火红彩票平台手机下载 will be featured.
Thursday, May 10, is Graphic Design & Advertising day with presentations by local as well as national professionals, featuring world-class brands and advertising campaigns.
And finally on Friday, May 11, it is all about Style & Fashion with design professionals such as Lena Singer, former manager at , who now work with such brands as Snapchat, Crate & Barrel; and , a fantastic up-and-coming fashion designer whose designs have been worn by Bella Hadid and Zendaya, and who has worked as a stylist on Chance the Rapper’s latest tour. The week wraps up with a lively closing party.
